I have been a travel agent for many years and the Marquis Boutique Hotel is one of my favorite places in the Caribbean. It reminds me of a small, charming hotel in the mountains overlooking Cannes. I have visited this hotel by myself, with my daughter and grandchildren in the past and am looking forward to another visit in June 2015. The atmosphere is Europe….the charm, the local French food, flavor and service….it is as if you were spending time in your home, but it is in the Caribbean with the ambiance of the French Riviera.
If you are looking for a high rise hotel in a more commercial environment, there are many places to stay all over the world. However, if you want local flavor, one on one service, and a home away from home over-looking a beautiful beach……this is the place for you. I’ll report back this June. The French Riviera in Saint Martin

The view atop of the mountain overlooking Marcel beach is one of a kind. Quaint little place with outstanding customer service in a relaxing atmosphere. Sure, there are nicer and a somewhat newer places to go but you feel at ease knowing the staff will do anything you need.Relaxing spot, great view, great service

A boutique hotel with tranquil charm. The staff are very helpful in this quaint and charming hotel situated on a bluff overlooking the ocean and Anguila in the distance. Breakfast is excellent and the ambience of the property brings you right down to a relaxed state. The only possible drawback is that you do need a car as the location is very hilly and there is a decent walk down to the beach.Peace & Quiet with an Amazing View
This was our third trip in six years to St Martins and we always stay at the Marquis. It fits the old story of being not too large, not too small, but just right. The staff is ever attentive and personable. The views from the room are spectacular, overlooking Anse Marcel. We usually rent a jeep to tour the island and the staff is helpful with suggested sites and beaches. They also helped sign us up for a Catamaran trip to an offshore island to do snorkeling and would make us reservations for us for dinner. Breakfast on the terrace is always a treat. We always feel relaxed and cared for at The Marquis.Third time visitor

I just returned and can’t wait to go back. This place exceeded my expectations! The staff was incredibly accommodating and everyone was so friendly. We went in the off season so it felt as if we were the only ones there and on the beach, which is literally 3 minutes down the hill and then just a quick 5 minute boat ride is the Island of Pinel. The Marquis is definitely going to be regular place to stay when I visit St Maarten in the future.
And if I could get my hands on the coconut jam they served with breakfast every morning, I’d be in heaven!Truly paradise!
